【About Speaker】

Yuan-Yin Chao is now the News Center Director at TaiwanPlus, supervising the daily newsroom operations and the channel launch on Oct. 3, 2022.

Prior to joining TaiwanPlus, Ms. Chao worked for TVBS as an international news producer from 2008 to 2022. She’s in charge of putting together the English News team and produced TVBS Meeting Room, interviewing guests such as former US Defense Secretary Mark Esper and former US Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul.

Ms. Chao joined TTV, Taiwan’s first television network, in 1992 and started her news career. With more than twenty years in major international event coverage, Ms. Chao contributed feature stories and news analysis, encompassing a wide variety of international issues, events and subject matters. 

Ms. Chao’s achievement of solid performance has won herself several news awards, such as the 2017 Excellent Journalism Award in the Timely News section for the coverage of 2016 US Presidential election, and the 2016 Rotary Golden Wheel Award of Public Affairs News, for the feature story of “Humanity and Justice – Move Forward to the Middle East Battlefront”.
